UHURU Walk 9 – Step Up for Change

On Sunday, 19th April, join the 9th Annual UHURU Walk organised by Meadows Schools – a vibrant community event dedicated to supporting English literacy and cognitive education for disadvantaged children in Tanzania. Choose your distance: 6.9km Walk, 13.8km Run, 27.6km Cycling, or the fun Walking Treasure Hunt. Every step you take helps provide quality learning opportunities to more children each year.

UHURU Walk 9 Treasure Hunt - Follow the Clues, Claim the Treasure!

Join the exciting Walking Treasure Hunt as part of the 9th Annual UHURU Walk organised by Meadows Schools on Sunday, 19 April 2026. Teams of 4 will follow clues over 6.9 km (or combine with the 13.8 km cycle option) starting from Diamond Jubilee Hall Parking Area at 7:00 AM. Every ticket directly supports English literacy and cognitive education for disadvantaged children.

Team Collaboration in Action!

Our Uhuru Walk organising team kicked off the first module on Communication Skills with an engaging breakout session.

Trainees split into groups to share their expectations for this exercise and discuss how they can contribute to our collective goals.

It was inspiring to see everyone’s enthusiasm and commitment to enhancing our communication strategies. The insights shared will undoubtedly strengthen our teamwork as we prepare for the journey ahead.

Sponsor & Child Day

A special day dedicated to honoring the support that sponsors provide and the positive impact it has on the lives of these children. In this event, each sponsor will meet and spend time with the child they are supporting.

Alumni Coffee Evening

Gathering our alumni for an opportunity to reconnect, catch up, and share cherished memories. This event is open to all previous Uhuru Walk volunteers and organizers. Come and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere while fostering new connections and reviving old ones over a cup of coffee.

Children's Day Out - Lunch at Choma Hut

Taking the children for a heartly lunch at Choma Hut Masaki. Alongside a delicious meal, the children will get to engage in games, activities, and creating joyful memories.
