Knowing the world beyond us is vital for widened opportunities as we grow. Taking this first step of awareness into globalization and identity, our lesson this week introduced the children to where they are in the world; and the planet they call their world.

This class focused on enhancing the children’s knowledge of their physical bodies and expanding their vocabulary through guided reading. It aimed to support the children in taking the vital first step in self-awareness of the basic composition of their bodies.
In our very first session, our team of Volunteering Teachers warmed up to each other and the children while testing their existing abilities in interpersonal communication. Fun play-time was utilized as a means to introduce the basics of interpersonal communication in the English language.
